Join the 2025/2026 Mentorship & Residency Program
The Creative Press Residency empowers artists to treat their creativity like their calling. Through structure, community, and mentorship, we help artists create cohesive bodies of work, build meaningful collector relationships, and sustain their practice year-round.
How do I join the residency?
The Creative Press Residency & Mentorship is for artist’s focused on three things, making their art, growing their art business and doing so in community.
We’re looking for artists who are ready to take themselves—and their art—seriously.
This work is simple, but not easy. It will require dedication, follow-through, and a willingness to show up fully for your creative practice.
We’ll provide you with in-depth training, coaching, and support—but it’s up to you to apply what you learn. The work you do here will not only help you find patrons to support your residency, create in community during our residency and sell art during our post-residency collective show, but it will also elevate your visibility, sales, and confidence all year long.
If this is what you’ve been looking for, here’s how it works:

No. The $30 application fee helps cover administrative and review costs.
-
No problem! All sessions will be recorded and made available to participants to watch on their own time.
-
Yes! A website is essential for you as an artist . You will be required to build out a page around your residency concept and a page for for showcasing and selling your collection to potential patrons. You will need to be able to sell your work through your website.
-
No. While it’s standard (and appropriate) for galleries to take a 40–50% commission for representing, marketing, and selling artists’ work, The Creative Press Residency operates differently.
Because this is a mentorship and collective residency—not a traditional gallery—we don’t take any percentage of your sales. When a collector clicks “purchase” on a piece featured on The Creative Press website, they’ll be directed to your artist website to complete the transaction.
You’ll handle all aspects of the sale, including payment, packaging, and shipping. This approach allows you to keep 100% of your profit while also learning how to manage your own sales and collector relationships directly.
-
Any medium is welcome—as long as you can produce and share your work digitally for our collective launch. We hope to include painters, photographers, mixed media artists, and textile artists in this year’s residency.
-
This program is designed for artists who already have the fundamentals in place—meaning you’ve sold work before, have an active website, and already have a way for collectors to purchase your art online.
If you’re at the stage of establishing those foundations, this may not be the right fit just yet. The Creative Press Residency is for artists who are ready to refine their systems, expand their audience, and elevate their business to the next level.
-
Then this is your opportunity to refine your systems, build community, and experiment with a themed collection. Established artists will use this framework to reset and re-energize their creative practice each January.
-
Due to the nature of digital delivery and early access to materials, refunds are not available after payment.
That said, this program works best when every artist who’s accepted is all in.
The Creative Press Residency is part online gallery, part business mentorship, part creativity accelerator, and part creative community. Your engagement—showing up for workshops, sharing your process, and promoting your residency—is crucial to the success of both your own experience and the collective as a whole. When you commit, you’re not only investing in your own growth—you’re helping shape a powerful, collaborative ecosystem that amplifies every artist involved.

Throughout the residency, The Creative Press actively promotes participating artists across multiple channels to help build visibility and momentum for each collection.
We feature artists on the Creative Press website with direct links to their residency pages, and we highlight their work through social media spotlights, newsletter features, and collective launch promotions. Each artist’s story, process, and collection are shared as part of our larger community narrative—helping you reach new audiences while you continue to build relationships with your own collectors.
However, marketing is a shared responsibility. To amplify the impact of the residency, all participating artists are expected to:
Engage with Creative Press content by liking, commenting on, and sharing social media posts—especially those featuring their work or the collective as a whole.
Share any posts directly about their own residency on their personal or professional social media pages.
Build or maintain an email newsletter (we’ll help you get started if needed) and send updates to your list about your upcoming residency and your collection release.
This collective visibility benefits everyone. When each artist actively participates in promoting the residency, the entire group gains more exposure, more collectors, and more sales opportunities.
Our goal isn’t just to showcase your work—it’s to help you learn how to market it confidently and collaboratively, so your reach continues to grow long after the residency ends.
